Cadbury Easter Dragon Hunt

Calling all brave knights and dragon hunters. This Easter Bodiam Castle needs your help. Rangers have found some unusual eggs hidden around the grounds, and after expert examination they believe they’re dragons’ eggs. Help find all the eggs to save the castle from a fiery end and receive a delicious Cadbury treat. Event runs between 11am and 4pm. Exercising outdoors at Rainham Marshes will give your whole body a work out and let your mind immerse itself into the surrounding wildlife. Using natures equipment - with a little help from some of our adventure playground props - we will take you through a gym session out in the open air! This session is for ladies only - there is a natures gym session open to everyone on 15 April if you would like to come along. This 45 minute circuit based class will see you reconnecting your body with nature and feeling the real benefit of getting active in the great outdoors. Ride into nature! Explore the reserve and surrounding trails with our cycle leader. We make plenty of stops along the way to look around at the beautiful scenery and wildlife, and talk about what we do here at Rainham Marshes. You don’t have to think about finding your own way around, we do that part for you. You can bring your own bike or hire one of ours. Vegetables All the Year Round

Our instructor will be on hand to give you tips and help out - maybe even set some challenges. This climbing session is a drop in - pop in anytime between 1-3 pm. Lampshade Weaving Workshops with Jane Withers

Come and tackle our climbing boulders! Go up and down, or try to go round - our boulders have something to challenge everyone. With grades from V0 to V5, they are suitable for complete beginners or competent climbers. And the best bit - you're out in nature, climbing to the soundtrack of birds song. You might even see a bird of prey circling overhead from the view across the wetland marshes. Our instructor will be on hand to give you tips and help out - maybe even set some challenges.  This climbing session is a drop in - pop in anytime between 1-3 pm. There are limited spaces for climbing - climbing will be first come, first served... If the boulders are busy when you arrive, don't worry we'll be with you shortly. Price: £2 per climber

Bluebell Festival

Watercolour Painting Day: ‘Cherry Blossom’

Join local artist Sandra Peck for a really enjoyable, relaxed and informative day, watching her detailed demonstrations and then having a go at your own pace, with help as you need it. Cherry Blossom is a gorgeous subject and we have lots of cherries growing at Barnsdale so there should be plenty in flower for this workshop- you’ll learn to capture it with a soft out-of-focus, wet-into-wet background and more detailed blossom in the foreground. Everyone is welcome, from the more experienced artist to the absolute beginner, and an afternoon cream tea is included in the price. St George’s Festival

Celebrate everything that is fantastic about our green and pleasant land as you immerse yourself in the story of England at the biggest St George’s Day celebration in the country. Hanami Blossom Festival at Brogdale Collections

Spring Birdwatch at Barnsdale
