Caring for your indoor plants: the ultimate cheat sheet

If you're looking to improve your mood and freshen up your home, a plant can make a real difference. But caring for them can be a different ball game. Modern Rugs has spoken to award-winning gardening expert Matthew Wilson, who provides us with advice on the species of plants which are easiest to maintain and the tips for caring for them.

Wilson said: "Moth orchids are surprisingly easy to look after and will flower well every year with a little care. Dracaena (Dragon Plant) are fairly bullet proof, and the brilliantly named Mother-in-laws-tongue is a dramatic structural plant in variegated form."

Here, they recommend plants based on their appearance and individual needs.
