Set in the dramatic scenery of the Peak District National Park, dog-friendly Wheeldon Trees Farm offers nine award-winning cottages in a peaceful location close to Buxton and Bakewell

- Pet-friendly accommodation
- Local attractions include Chatsworth House and Gardens, and Haddon Hall
- Stunning views of the Chrome Hills and the beautiful Upper Dove valley
- Features include outdoor play area and games room

There are self-guided dog walks from the door and two dog friendly pubs nearby. Pets are treated like royalty with toys, towels, bowls, mats, leads, holiday tags, furniture throws, doggy treats, waste bags, an exercise paddock and even a doggie hairdryer.

Families can have hours of fun in the communal games room with fully fitted kitchen, pool table, table football and games for all ages. Outside is an outdoor play area with low level adventure equipment. Younger guests will also enjoy daily feeding of the on site animals including hens, ducks, lambs and rabbits and from early March, three alpacas.

A short stroll away is The Quiet Woman, an old-fashioned unchanging country local offering a simple beamed interior with plain furniture on quarry tiles, china ornaments and coal fire, well kept Marston’s Bitter and good pork pies. There’s also a family room with pool, skittles and darts.

Nearby attractions include Chatsworth House and Gardens, Haddon Hall, Go Ape, Buxton and Ilam Park.

Those preferring not to self cater can order a breakfast basket of Derbyshire goodies (just £15 for two) including homemade bread, butter, granola, yoghurts, eggs from the Wheeldon Trees chicks, semi skimmed milk, jam, marmalade and honey. The pack also incudes Staffordshire Oatcakes, a local speciality, some delicious Peakland White Cheese, Apple Juice and chocolate drops. A smaller breakfast is available from just £5 per person.

‘Sheldon’ is one of the nine award-winning cottages. It is all on one level and boasts under floor heating throughout. It has been awarded the M2 grading. The property offers views of the Chrome Hills and the beautiful Upper Dove valley. All guests receive a hamper on arrival made up of cakes, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, toiletries, cling film, silver foil, kitchen and toilet paper.

Wheeldon Trees Farm sleeps four property Sheldon costs from £590. For more information or to book, visit www.premiercottages.co.uk or call the owner direct on 01298 83219 or 07785 547819.
