Registration for the UK's biggest ever seed sowing campaign, Grow Wild, is open and they have thousands of free seed kits to give away
The Grow Wild project aims to help transform local spaces into picturesque, colourful wild flower havens by offering free seed kits for people to try. Registration will close in five weeks, ensuring there is still plenty of time to apply and brighten up communities up and down the country.
Backed by the Big Lottery Fund and led by Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, the aim of Grow Wild is to inspire communities across Britain to rally together to transform their local spaces. The seed kits are designed to be shared by people around them, and the kits provide a valuable chance to get together and appreciate the power of sowing native wild flowers.
There are 100,000 free seed kits, which will create over one million square metres of wild flowers by summer 2016, and people can register for up to 20 kits each.
To apply, fill in the form at www.growwilduk.com/seed-kit. Registration will close at midnight on 14th February 2016, with the kits sent out in late March, just in time for spring sowing.
The Grow Wild kits contain a getting started guide, DIY bee house and site markers, different native seed mixes for England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, along with a bilingual kit for Wales.
