Posted 1st Feb 2016

With 2016 marking 300 years since the birth of Britain's best-known landscape gardener Capability Brown, Farm Stay UK have launched a Capability Brown collection and garden trail in his honour

Farm Stay UK – specialists in farm-based accommodation across the UK – has released the collection which will highlight over 300 places to stay within 15 miles of a Brown garden or landscape, as well as a Capability Brown week-long self-drive garden trail.

The self-drive trail; best done over a week or more, will traverse the Cotswolds and will take you through Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire (WOWW) and will incorporate some of Capability's most famous works along with some lesser-known gems, including Worcestershire's Croome Court and Lacock Abbey in Oxfordshire.

There will also be a Capability Brown accommodation collection which will allow holidaymakers to search through a range of properties set within a 15 mile radius of a Brown garden or landscape.

The trail details are as follows:

Leg 1 - Kick off with a Capability Cluster in Wiltshire - Park Farm B&B
Set within peaceful countryside on the edge of Corsham Court Estate is Park Farm Barn B&B, perfectly situated to explore Wiltshire's Capability Brown gardens. Close to Corsham Court, visitors will be able to discover Brown's 'Great Walk' – a one-mile path lined with trees. Next visit Lacock Abbey, where Downtown Abbey was filmed, before taking in Brown's iconic lake and woodland landscapes at Dyrham Park, Longleat, Stourhead and Bowood House.
