Not just for making refreshing drinks, fruit can be a great inspiration. Why not turn your hand to a little colourful crafting using your favourite juicy fruit?
Begin by downloading our ‘pear tea towel’ template here or send a stamped self-addressed envelope to Pear Tea Towel Template LLJULY18, LandLove Magazine, HBMUK, The Tower, Phoenix Square, Colchester, Essex, CO4 9HU. The template will print onto one sheet of A4 paper. Print two copies.
Cut out the paper pears, leaves and stalk shapes from each of the two templates following the black printed lines.
Iron a sheet of Heat-NBond iron on adhesive paper onto the underside of several small pieces of printed fabric. Turn the printed fabrics over and pin the paper pattern pieces to the front printed side of the fabrics.
Cut round the shapes with scissors and then unpin and remove the paper templates.
Arrange the pieces right side up on top of the tea towel. Work one piece at a time; peel away the paper backing paper, place in position on the towel and iron on to hold.
Finally, machine stitch round the motifs with a contrasting thread.
