The Tiptree World Bread Awards are back, open now for entries until 4th September 2016
Initially launched in 2013 to celebrate the nation's passion and skill for bread making, the Tiptree World Bread Awards have grown year-on-year as Britain boasts some of the finest bread bakers and bakeries in the world, with both craft bakers and artisan bakeries opening up almost every week.
In 2015 the Awards had 540 entries, with boxes of flatbread, focaccias, baguettes and brioche brought in for the judging process among many other delicious types of bread, with judges including Luis Troyano ,Frances Quinn, Kimberley Wilson and LandLove's Assistant Editor Natalie Crofts.
Caroline Kenyon, Director of the Awards, said: 'The winners’ harvest supper at St John’s Hyde Park in October has fast become an important fixture in the bakers’ year. It is a wonderful coming together of judges, finalists and foodie press to pay tribute to a fantastic industry. After all, we buy 12 million loaves a day in the UK!'
