In 2010, Rose Prince, along with her daughter Lara and son Jack, began opening up their Battersea home every Saturday morning to sell freshly made bread, using skills they learnt as children. Today, their business is a thriving local bakery with a passion for all things baked, producing high quality artisan treats, from brioche loaves in flower pots to scrumptious teatime cakes.
The Pocket Bakery book is split into eight main sections, from rich and modern bread, to pastry, cakes and biscuits. Sumptuous recipes for polenta bread with sage and bacon, jammy roll cake and sticky orange buns adorn the pages, with a helpful basics section at the front and brilliant waste not selection of recipes at the back, to help you use up leftover bread. The book has everything the keen baker or bread novice will need to start up their very own mini bakery that is sure to keep the whole household happy.
The Pocket Bakery by Rose Prince is published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, available to buy from all good book stores, RRP £18.99.
