1 orange, thickly sliced
1 lemon, thickly sliced
Waitrose Signature Spice Mulling Mixture
750ml bottle red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz or Merlot
4 tbsp soft brown sugar
3 tbsp Cointreau
1 Place the orange and lemon slices with the Signature Spice Mulling mixture into a saucepan with all the other ingredients. Heat over a very low heat for 15 minutes. Don’t boil or you will lose all the alcohol.
2 Take off the heat and set aside for 30 minutes to infuse. Reheat gently then ladle the wine into heatproof glasses.
